Large woody climber with rusty-tomentose twigs. Coriaceous leaves to 360mm x 150mm pubescent above & tomentose beneath. Extra-axillary solitary flowers with a bract to 7mm x 6mm, tomentose sepals 10mm x 7mm with red-brown hairs, coriaceous yellow petals, outer petals to 18mmx 8mm rufous-tomentose outside, coriaceous inner petals to to 12mm x 6mm puberulous outside glabrous inside. Slightly tomentose fruit 20mm x 9mm ripening red
