Simple tendril woody high-climbing liana to 12m, with striate stems, mainly glabrous leaves to 140mm x 80mm. Terminal & axillary panicles to 200mm x 100mm of scented purple-red showy flowers white at throat to 45mm long with 11mm lobes, white-hairy on outside, brown fruit capsules to 250mm long x 10mm wide
