Woody hairy tendril vine with leaves hairy above, tomentose beneath, leafflets to 125mm x75mm, terminal panicle 150mm long or series of axillary panicles of fragrant dark purple, lavender, red to white flowers to 53mm long with 12mm lobes, corolla downy outside, fruit a flattened downy capsule to 175mm long x 15mm wide, simple tendrils, striated downy or glabrous branches
