Large woody climber, twigs with longitudinal wrinkles & red-brown hairs. Leaves to 130mm x 55mm glabrescent above & red-brown hairy beneath. Axillary or terminal inflorescence with bract 3mm x 2mm, sepals to 3mm x 3mm glabrous inside &hairy outside, coriaceous outer petals to 10mm x 6mm red-brown hairy outside & pale brown or whitish hairs inside, inner petals to 7mm x 4mm mainly glabrous escept pale hairs in upper part. Fruit to 20mm x 20mm withred-brown woolly hairs
