Large woody climber with lenticellate glabrescent twigs. Leaves to 110mm x 45mm, glabrous above apart from hairs on midrib & brown-hairy beneath. Terminal or leaf-opposed panicles with a tiny bract, triangular sepals to 4mm x 4mm, coriaceous outer petals 15mm x 7mm, red-brown hairy outside & nearly glabrous inside, inner petals 13mm x 5mm pale brown hairy outside & nearly glabrous inside. Fruit to 20mm diameter covered in red-brown woolly tomentum.
