Large woody climber with rusty-tomentose young growth, teigs longitudinally wrinkled. Leaves to 80mm x 30mm with pald hairs on midrib above & golden-brown hairs beneath. Solitary axillary rusty-tomentose flowers, triangular sepals 3.5mm x 2mm brown-hairy outside & glabrous within, coriaceous hairy outer petals to 30mm x 4mm, inner petals 12mm x 4mm brown-hairy outside more or less glabrous inside. Densely brown-hairy fruit 25mm x 20mm with broad short beak
