Large woody glabrescent climber, glabrescent striate lenticellate young twigs. Coriaceous leaves to 300mm x 145mm, glabrous above & tomentose beneath. Axillary or terminal, leaf-opposed & axillary panicles or cymes with dark chocolate tomentum & bracts 2mm x 1mm, rusty tomentose flowers, triangular sepals to 2mm x 3mm brown-tomentose outside glabrous inside, white tinged pink petals brown outside , outer petals coriaceous to 40mm x 6mm, inner petals to 19mm x 5mm. Glabrous rough or verrucose fruit or with dense brown woolly tomentum to 30mm diameter
