Large woody climber with lenticellate or striate twigs, young part densely red-brown tomentose. Glabrescent leaves to 85mm x 40mm. Terminal or leaf-opposed panicles, triangular sepals 3mm x 3mm, outer petaks 15mm x 5mm densely red-brwon hairy outside & pale-brown woolly inside, brown-hairy inner petals 11mm x 4mm. Red-brown woolly fruit to 35mm x 25mm with broadly nippled apex
