Large woody twining shrub or erect tree with terminal & axillary racemes or panicles to 100mm long with bracts, of 9mm x 10mm rust-coloured flowers edged yellow, 5 coriaceous sepals villous outside 3mm diameter, corolla 9mm long with 5 lobes 7mm long, corolla tube to 3mm long, limb to 8mm diameter, black berry to 15mm x 10mm, young branches, underside of leaves & inflorescence rusty-tomentose, adult foliage glabrescent & coriaceous, glabrous coriaceous leaves 100mm x 50mm
