Perennial climber with striated knotted stems. Male flowers in spikes to 20mm long with bracts to 2mm x 1.5mm. Female flowers in cymes with bracts to 5mm long. Yellow flowers. Fleshy red or whitish fruit to 7mm x 6.5mm.
