Giant evergreen woody tomentose prickly bifid tendril liana with fleshy tubers, glabrous stems often flattened. Glabrous coriaceous bipinnate leaves ending in a tendril, leaflets to 100mm x 63mm. Axillary & terminal spikes to 300mm long of fragrant yellowish to greenish-white 6mm long flowers with reddish base, glabrous green calyx to 1.25mm with inconspicuous teeth, 5-lobed corolla, petals to 3.5mm. Curved woody pods to 2m long x 150mm, constricted between the seeds.
