Perennial evergreen liana to 12m, or straggling spiny shrub, occasionally erect tree, with spiny glabrescent stems, subcoriaceous leaves to 180mm x 60mm glabrous or glabrescent above silvery-white beneath. Up to 8 flowered axillary spikes or fascicles with bracts to 3mm long, of silvery-brown or yellowish-grey 8mm long flowers, flowers tube to 2mm long, flowers 8mm long & hairy with lobes to 3mm long villous inside, red-ferrugineous drupe 35mm x 15mm.
