Shrub to 4m or liana with quadrangular densely pubescent branchlets, spines to 12mm x 2mm. Coraceous glabrescent leaves to 80mm x 40mm. Inflorescence to 110mm long subtended by 2 reduced leaves to 30mm x 10mm, flowers to 18mm long with calyx 7mm long, pale blue corolla with purple lines, tube 15mm long & lobes to 6mm x 5mm. Yellow-orange sparsely pubescrnt fruit to 8mm x 7mm.
