Hemi-epiphyic liane, herb or shrub with glabrate stems to 1.8m. Serrulate or entire leaves to 350mm x 140mm, strigillose to scabrous. 10mm white to yellow flowers outside & purple-brown inside, green & red to purple bracts in few-flowered axillary fascicles with small bracts, strigillose calyx lobes green with red veins or all red to 28mm long, pale yellow or cream corolla with red or purple on lower surface, to 60mm long with lobes 5mm long, spurred at base with limb 20mm wide
