Small tree or shrub sometimes scandent, ferrugineous tomentose branches becoming glabrescent, coriaceous leaves to 300mm x 150mm with revolute margins hispid beneath, male inflorescence an axillary cyme to 20mm long with bracts to 5mm long, coriaceous calyx to 8mm long with lobes 6mm x 4mm, reddish corolla 8mm long with 5 lobes 6mm x 3mm, female inflorescence has calyx 12mm long with lobes 10mm x 7mm, 12mm long corolla with lobes 10mm x 6mm, glabrescent mucronulate fruit 30mm diameter, fragrant flowers white outside pink within
