Tall slender tuberous woody twiner to 25m with ridged purple stems, leathery glabrous leaves to 250mm x 50mm. Axillary male inflorescence to 350mm long, male flowers to 10mm long with bracts to 2mm long and tepals to 1mm long. Axillary female inflorescence with bracts to 1.5mm long, flower tube to 1mm, tepals to 3mm long
