Perennial rhizomatous deciduous twining vine covered in white hairs, glabrous stems spiny towards base, leaves 100mm x 60mm, male inflorescence to 500mm long, female inflorescence to 200mm long to 12 or more flowers, fruit a winged capsule 25mm x 40mm, wings at 85-90ยบ 16mm x 20mm, male flowers 3.5mm across, female 6mm long
