Tall dioecious hairy tuberous twining vine with spiny glabrescent stems to 10m, coriaceous pubescent leaves 110mm x 80mm, axillary inflorescences, male flowers 2mm across in pubescent spikes to 300mm long, female spikes to 100mm long, flowers 3mm long, spiny stems to 240mm long, fruit with wings to 22.5mm x 22mm
