Glabrous tuberous herbaceous twiner with tuberous roots, stems with persistent hairs on young parts, simple glabrous leaves to 100mm x 70mm, male axillary fascicles to 60mm long occasionally to 120mm long with 20-40 flowers with bracts at base, female inflorescence to 200mm long. Capsule with wings to 14mm x 11mm
