Trailing or climbing rhizomatous twining annual vine. Trilobate leaves to 270mm x 200 mm. Staminate axillary raceme to 200mm long subtended by bracts 1mm long, perianth segments to 1.5mm long. Pistillate inflorescence to 150mm long. Capsule 11mm x 6mm, maturing red.
