Rhizomatous twiner with glabrous spiny stems. Leaves 160mm x 110mm glabrous above, hairy beneath. Solitary or to 3 male flowers to 3.5mm diameter with 0.8mm lobes, white flowers 3.5mm diameter, spikes with up to 20 female flowers. 3-winged capsule to 22mm long with 14mm wide wings, brown spotted purplish brown
