Herbaceous sometimes glabrous twining tuberous climber with leaves to 100mm x 50mm. Male spikes to 40mm long in panicles to 400mm long. greenish-brown to cream with brown tips or wine flowers, stems with winged ridges, greenish-yellow capsule to 20mm x 13mm
