Glabrous herbaceous tuberous twiner to 3m with woody angular branchlets. Leaves variable in size, shape & texture, to 80mm x 70mm with lobes. Axillary male racemes. Pistillate flowers with racemes to 180mm long with bractlets 2mm long. Greenish to purple-black flowers to 3.5mm wide. Maroon fruits.
