Perennial rhizomatous bamboo with woody scandent zigzag culms. Culm sheaths to 100mm long with white hairs, glabrous culm-sheath blade to 75mm x 7mm, glabrous leaf sheaths. Glabrous leaves to 190mm x 30mm. Inflorescence with bracts, spikelets 4mm long, coriaceous lemma, fleshy fruit 6mm long
