Sometimes scandent or erect shrub or treelet with glabrous branchlets. Coriaceous and glabrescent leaves to 30mm x 10mm. Axillary fascicles with bracteoles, of bright red or orange flowers, tipped white or pink with a pink throat. Calyx tube 5mm x 4mm with lobes to 3mm. Corolla tube to 40mm x 6mm dia. at base 10mm wide at mouth with lobes to 5mm long. Fruit blackish to 8mm dia.
