Large liana or shrub with glabrous branchlets, leaves coriaceous, glabrous above and minute bristly beneath. Axillary glabrous fascicles with bracteoles 7mm x 5mm, of 50mm crimson flowers, calyx tube 5mm x 5mm with lobes to 3mm. Corolla tube red 20mm x 6mm with lobes to 2mm. Immature fruit to 8mm dia.
