Woody liane to 40m, with hairy stems, sensitive inflorescences acting as tendrils, coriaceous leaves 350mm x 175mm glabrous above, hairy beneath. Tomentose terminal corymbs with bracts, whitish-yellow flowers, violet calyx 5mm long tomentose outside, recurved sepals, glabrous white corolla with tube 13mm long & lobes 12mm x 4mm. Red fruit with lighter coloured dots to 150mm diameter
