Liana to 4m with angled lenticellate branches, young branches velvety. Leaves to 250mm x 150mm, glabrous above & puberulent beneath. Polygamous puberulent perfumed white flowers, inflorescence to 40mm long, male flowers to 3mm long with bilobed petals to 2mm long, lobes 1.2mm wide, sepals to 2.5mm x 1.5mm, dark purple within. Hairy brownish fruits ripening yellow 20mm x 12.5mm
