Liana to 20m. Young branchlets pubescent becoming glabrescent, old branches lenticellate. Entire glabrous leaves to 95mm x 37mm, hairy veins. Axillary pubescent many-flowered cymes to 10mm long with bracteoles to 1.5mm, whitish-green sepals to 3mm x 2mm, dark purple petals, shallowly bilobed, 3mm long with lobes 1mm long. Flattened densely-hairy drupe to 25mm x 16mm
