Liana or shrub, glabrescent branches with red pubescence & lenticels, subcoriaceous nearly glabrous leaves to 220mm x 100mm, with solitary terminal pale yellow flowers with bracts to 4mm long, sepals 7mm long pubescent outxside glabrous inside, coriaceous petals greenish-yellow becoming yellow & pink at base 24mm long, glabrous red fruit to 30mm long, jointed with 2-5 segments, carpels villous
