Spiny woody twining vine with tomentose branches, curved spines to 5mm long. Mucronate pubescent leaves to 92mm x 32mm. Axillary cymose-panicles of fragrant cream flowers, phyllaries in 7-8 series to 2.5mm x 1.5mm, 10-12 florets, yellowish corolla to 7.8mm long with tube to 3.2mm long. Pubescent achenes to 2.4mm long with bristly pappus to 7.5mm long.
