Annual simple or bifid tendril vine with angled glabrous stems. 3-7 parted or divided leaves to 70mm long, toothed lobes, almost glabrous. White flowers, staminate flowers in racemes of panicles, solitary axillary pistillate flowers, sepals to 2mm long, corolla to 6mm across. Green spiny berry to 30mm long
