Glabrous bifid or trifid tendril scandent or prostrate shrub or perennial vine with pubescent stems becoming glabrescent. 3-5 lobed angulate mucronate denticulate leaves roughish above to 140mm x 110mm, white-villous above & scabrous beneath. Branched tendrils. Axillary inflorescence to 320mm long of pale yellow, green or white scented flowers, calyx to 20mm x 4mm with teeth to 0.5mm long, petals to 15mm, male flowers in panicles of about a dozen glabrous flowers to 12mm long, sepals to 2mm long, white petals to 12mm long, female flowers solitary, with hispid calyx, sepals & petals similar to male. Hispid with long soft prickles, explosive fruit to 30mm long x 15mm.
