Herbaceous tendril climber, mostly glabrous stems. 3-lobed leaves to 120mm long, scabrous beneath, bifid tendrils. 15mm yellowish (Male) flowers with calyx tube to 1.5mm wide, yellowish corolla. Spiny green explosive fruit to 30mm long, prickles to 4mm long.
