Annual or perennial creeping or climbing trifid-tendril plant with foetid odour, angled climbing or trailing stems to 8m long. Toothed or lobed thick leaves strigose above, white-villous beneath to 400mm long with hoary surfaces. Bristly or hairy 120mm yellow-orange flowers, sepals to 40mm long, pubescent corolla to 100mm long, female flowers axillary solitary & 180mm across. Greenish-brown round berry to 100mm diameter variegated pale green or yellow.
