Herbaceous annual simple tendril vine or prostrate herb with solitary yellow 12mm flowers, tube to 15mm long, lobes to 8.5mm long, staminate flowers sometimes in axillary fascicles, male inflorescence with hairy calyx, female ovary with white velvety hairs, yellow hairy densely spiny berry to 70mm long, prickly angled stems, slightly toothed leaves 100mm across with 3-5 lobes or entire , scabrid above, scabrid & hispidulous beneath
