Erect shrub or liana to 7m tall. Canescent young stems. Toothed leaves to 120mm x 50mm, tomentose beneath. Terninal corymbose panicles with bracts, pale purple to white flowers, heads with 5-6 florets, flowers to 5.5mm long, white corolla to 5.5mm long. Sparsely pilose achenes to 2.4mm with whitish pappus bristles to 4.5mm long.
