Scrambling shrub or small tree, young branches hairy, leaves to 220mm x 160mm, margin serrate, strigillose above, tomentose beneath. Lateral sub-terminal corymbs or cymes of reddish tomentose wrinkled flowers to 3mm long, calyx to 3.5mm x 2.5mm, widened to 4mm in fruit with 5 triangular reddish tomentose lobes, 3mm long corolla with lobes 2mm x 1mm, fruit to 8mm x 5mm
