Scandent glabrous high-climbing twining shrub, sprawling shrub, liana to 40m or small tree with terminal, glabrous lenticellate branches. Glabrous imparipinnate leaves to 200mm long with 1-4 pairs of leaflets, leaflets to 140mm x 70mm. Tomentose lateral or axillary panicles to 300mm long with minute bracts, reddish-yellow or pink fragrant flowers, sepals to 3mm x 1.5mm pubescent outside glabrous within, tomentose petals 10mm long x 2mm wide. Curved glabrous yellow to orange coriaceous follicles to 40mm x 10mm with a beak.
