Large liana to 30m, shrub or tree with glabrous sometimes lenticellate branches, coriaceous leaves, 3-5 leaflets to 270mm x 125mm. Yellow tomentose inflorescence to 350mm x 300mm with minute bracts, pubescent sepals to 3.5mm x 1.5mm, white, pink or cream petals tipped with yellowish hairs to 7mm long, woody glabrous beaked or hooked scarlet follicles to 70mm x 20mm
