Lianescent shrub or subshrub with pubescent young shoots. Velvety coriaceous leaves to 75mm long. Dense axillary & terminal panicles of orange-red flowers, vermilion toothed calyx & petals, petals to 2mm long. Cream to orange fruits 40mm x 25mm.
