Woody nearly glabrous liana or shrub, leaves glabrous both surfaces to 160mm x 60mm, axillary & terminal spikes or corymbs 50mm long of villous 25mm white then dark-red flowers, villous calyx 18m long with lobes to 2.5mm, 5 petals 4mm x1.4mm villous both sides. 4-winged fruit black, 5-ridged to 28mm x 18mm glabrous, wings to 7mm across.
