Herbaceous perennial climber or creeper to 3m with angulary grooved glabrescent stems. 3-5 mucronate lobed leaves to 140mm x 160mm with serrate-dentate margins & bracts to 4mm, simple, rarely bifid, tendrils. Orange flowers sometimes with bracts to 2.5mm, male 4-6 flowered racemes, hispid or pilose calyx, lobes to 6.5mm long, yellow to orange corolla to 30mm long with lobes 11mm long, female flowers similar. Fruit ripening red to 44mm x 15mm.
