Simple tendril climber or creeper with glabrous stems to 9.5m. 5-lobed glabrous leaves to 135mm x 155mm with dentate margins, bracts to 4mm, bifid or rarely simple tendrils. male few-flowered racemes, calyx lobes to 6.5mm, cream to pale buff corolla to 27mm long with corolla lobs to 11mm, solitary female flowers similar to male . Fruits turning red with white mottling to 100mm x 25mm.
