Perennial simple-tendril climber to 5m with white to yellowish hairs on stems. Nearly glabrous 3-5 lobed leaves to 120mm x 120mm with densely serrate-dentate margins, upper surface with clear or whitish pustules or hairs, lower surface sparsely so, bracts to 3mm long. Male flowers solitary or in few-flowered racemes with bracts to 1.7mm long, calyx lobes to 4mm long, yellow to orange corolla to 14mm long, female flowers solitary, calyx & corolla similar to male. Glabrous orange-red fruit sometimes with yellow longitudinalk mottling to 60mm x 40mm.
