Tomentose scandent shrub, small tree or tall liana to 25m with buff-tomentose branchlets. Leaves imparipinnate to 500mm long, leaflets to 31, to 95mm x 35mm, nearly glabrous above, pubescent beneath, bright pink shoots. Tomentose axillary panicles to 80mm long of 5mm diameter hairy greyish-white cauliflorous flowers with dark brown centre, red velvety sepals, white petals. Tomentose follicles yellow or brownish to 70mm x 25mm, large pear-shaped orange to scarlet fruit .
