Bristly tall woody climber or sometimes climbing shrub, brown-pubescent, with terminal panicles of fragrant small white flowers 2mm long, calyx to 2mm densely brown-velvety on back, petals shorter, scarlet pungent bristly fruit. Red beaked fruits 40mm long with red-velvety tomentum, twining liana with white flowers, leaves to 300mm long, leaves in 8-15 pairs plus terminal one, leaflets 60mm x 30mm glabrous above grey-ferrugineus-downy beneath also petioles & branchlets
