Liana or glabrous erect or climbing shrub with glabrous branches, axillary racemes to 75mm long with bract at base 4mm long, of pink to white flowers, petals to 6mm long, calyx to 5mm, bright red brown-pubescent curved fruits with stinging bristles to 40mm long, twiner with tendrils, leaves to 300mm long, 4-6 paired leaves plus terminal leaflet, leaflets 100mm x 50mm with rusty hairs on midrib or glabrous above grey-hairy beneath
