Twining herb, leaves to 150mm x 120mm with scattered stff hairs on nerves above & glabrous beneath, Leaf-opposed racemes, male flowers superior in raceme, female flowers inferior, lower bracts to 13m x 9mm, upper bracts to 4mm x 3mm, male flowers with 3-part calyx to 5mm x 8mm, female flowers with calyx 12mm x 8mm enlarging in fruit & covered in stiff white hairs. White hairy 3-lobed fruit 20mm x 10mm
