Liana or shrub to 8m with pubescent tetragonal branches. Pubescent leaves 130mm x 65mm, puberulent above & densely pubescent or tomentose beneath. White flowers in terminal panicles or many-flowered cymes in leaf axils, green or yellow -green hairy calyx 4mm long, white to cream corolla, rarely pinkish, tube to 12mm long with 5 lobes to 3mm long. Green drupet turning yellow then black.
